Lyme Road Safety

Within the urban compact, Hanover Bike Walk recommends:

 + widening the bike lane on northbound Lyme Road to meet or surpass national standards

+ clarifying bike lane and vehicle lane merges prior to bike lane ending in line with national standards

+ designing a safe way for people biking and driving to share the road in front of RMS where there is no bike lane

+ lowering speeds throughout the corridor to make the road safer for all

+ increasing safety for people crossing Lyme Road

+ adding crosswalks at all legs of the Roundabouts (raised crossings will further improve safety and access)

+ clarifying access for people riding bikes in and out of the roundabout from all adjacent roadways and bike lanes

+ adding benches and pedestrian scaled lighting along the shared use path to improve access

+ continuing the shared use path north past the Reservoir Roundabout
