Lyme Road Multi-Use Path

The Lyme Road Multi-Use Path (sometimes called the MUP)  The MUP was an outgrowth of the Safe Routes to School Travel plan. The construction of the Lyme Road MUP cost an extra $44,000 in conjunction with the road resurfacing, and has an expected life of 50 years! That's a cost of less than $1,000 per year. By contrast one mile of 2-lane road would cost an estimated $2,000,000 - $6,000,000 over 50 years.

With close to 1 in 3 people unable to drive themselves, this is a vital path, allowing more people to get to where they need to go without being chauffeured. The impact of this path would be magnified if it were part of a safe network of paths and street crossings.
