My understanding of authentic assessment is that it empowers students take charge of their own learning by emphasizing real world applications and practical skills. This requires teachers to make or develop assessments and tasks including the diverse abilities and skills of every student. Ensuring that every student was given opportunity to apply their unique strengths and skill in a certain tasks. Reflecting on the activity has given to us, it shows that teachers must develop more appropriate methods of assessments. Even though the intention of the given assessment is to gauge student learning, the methods used must promote fairness and equity to all student. Educators can create a supportive and fair methods and assessment that reflects the students capabilities, by adopting authentic assessment that each student individual differences.
