Summary:
Learning targets should be clearly stated, specific, and centers on what is truly important. There are fourteen (14) principles of high quality assessment for teachers to measure the knowledge and their understanding. These are; clarity and appropriateness of learning targets, appropriateness of methods, variety, balance, participation, validity, reliability fairness, positive consequence, practicality and efficiency, continuity, authenticity, communication, and ethics. Including these principles of high quality assessment can provide reliable and valid data to inform all users and stakeholders, including teachers and parents, about how well students have learned and what further instruction is needed.
