Cacharí es una localidad argentina ubicada en el partido de Azul, Buenos Aires. Es junto con Chillar, la localidad más importante del partido detrás de la ciudad de Azul.
El Gobierno Provincial autorizó el 2 de mayo de 1896 a don Mariano Falomir, a fundar un pueblo a llamarse Cacharí. El 16 de septiembre de ese año se autoriza la mensura y trazado, indicando las fracciones destinadas al uso público.
Su nombre tiene varias teorías, desde el nombre de un cacique a voces de lenguas originarias.
Paulatinamente creció la población, se incorporaron servicios públicos, se afincaron organismos oficiales y nacieron las entidades de fomento, culturales, sociales y deportivas.
Cuenta con aproximadamente 3000 habitantes y tiene importantes lugares para recorrer y descubrir, patrimonio salamónico, Museos y atractivas e interesantes edificaciones. Ciudad prolija y atractiva, invita a visitarla.
Cacharí is an Argentine town located in the district of Azul, Buenos Aires. It is, along with Chillar, the most important town in the district behind the city of Azul. On May 2nd, 1896, the Provincial Government authorized Mr. Mariano Falomir to found a town to be called Cacharí. On September 16 of that year, the survey and layout were authorized, indicating the sections destined for public use. There are several theories about its name, from the name of a chief to words from native languages. The population gradually grew, public services were incorporated, official organisations were established and development, cultural, social and sports organizations were created.
