Hedonismbot

Lust, as a human instinct, is also one of the seven deadly sins in christian. Most of us have sexual desire, which is not deniable. Prurient urge is all over our world, which sets nearly our whole brain buzzing.

If you google "sex" "robot" you will found out that I am way far from the first person to write about this topic; in fact, in addition to tremendous books, articles, videos, video games, back to 2014 some scholars alread held the first international congress on love and sex with robots. In contrast, just one year later, some opponents launched The Campaign Against Sex Robots in response to the burgeoning industry of sex robots.

So "sex robot" is a cliche. But from most sources availble online, those robots are made by humans as a "sexual tool", designed solely to satisfy people's sexual desires. Me personally is strongly against that, I think it will reduce and even destroy our empathy and increase crime and abuse that against women: Not surprisely, most of sex robots on the market are "female".

But lustful robot? Robot that has sexual desire just as we do? I haven't found any research related to this at the moment. However, a character from animated series "Futurama" - "Hedonismbot" got me interested. Hedonismbot is a hedonistic robot, who spends every second of his day indulging his self-pleasure, (most of which is sexual). Hedonismbot is into some really kinky things and owns a sex dungeon, where people engage in various shocking sexual acts. Click here for more information.

In 2013, The Onion published an article about how MIT scientists created robot capable of feeling lust.(The Onion is a online media companyy that published satirical and fictional articles in a traditional news format.) It says the robot "was so lifelike that it can take one look at a person and grow uncontrollably aroused, becoming completely consumed by its own passionate sexual appetite." Whenever this robot wants to have sex with someone, this robot would give off this strange, domineer energy, make sudden, aggressive movements and the speed of the robot’s cooling fan would increase. It will completely preoccupied with the person. In the end of the article, "the robot violently self-destructed after realizing it would never—indeed, could never—be with Dr. Breton."The article can be found here .

Unfortunately, in real life, robots do not experience sexual emotions since they cannot experience emotions. However, people may still desire to have sex with robots. Lust is not only about sex, sex is either not only about desire and pleasure. You want to have real sex, you must have soul and emotion first. In the end, what we need is just love, isn't it?
