I chose Meva Mikusz because I found her story very interesting and I was amazed by how brave and amazing she was. What I found most inspirational is how she risked her life at 15 years old to sneak into the Jewish ghetto to rescue little Inka.
Her heroic character traits are bravery and never giving up. Her heroic action was sneaking into the Jewish ghetto wearing the Star of David on her shoulder. She later said that she could have been murdered, but she still went in, took Inka, and ran out. Inka's dad was there holding Inka, and he handed her to Meva. Meva ran out and was stopped by two Nazi soldiers, but she got past them and safely brought home Inka.
Meva’s story shows that when you are determined to do something you will get the job done. My vision for my piece was to base the artwork on what happened to Inka and Meva. I believe my artwork tells the story of these brave girls. To research Meva's story, I used a website made by students who got to meet her and learn how she saved Inka.
I hope to share Meva's story with others because she was an awesome person, and more people should try to be like her.
