LET’S START WORKING!!

LET´S LOOK INTO THE MATTER.

Questions you have to look for information to do your investigation.

· Why do Latin American people have to go away from their countries?

· How do they come to Spain?

· What sort of work do they do in Spain? (Men - women), What salaries do they receive?, What do they do with the money they earn?

· What is a phone booth calling centre? , How many do you know?

· How do they live?, In what places?

· What about their customs?

· How are they treated by the Spanish?

· How do the Latin-American immigrants contribute to the Spanish society?

· How does the economic crisis affect the immigration?

ACTIVITY 1: TO LOOK FOR INFORMATION ON INTERNET AND TO COLLECT IT IN CARDS.

To answer these questions you are going to seek for information in several sources of Internet, so as to elaborate later, a presentation of slides which will help you to explain to your classmates what you have learned.

You can use these templates to keep the information you are collecting. You can share the task out but remember that you have to give responses to all the questions given.

COLLECTED INFORMATION CARDS

In these cards you are going to copy and paste the Internet information you consider important for your investigation.

ACTIVITY 2: TO LOOK FOR A VIDEO FOR THE PRESENTATION.

Next, you are going to look for a video in YOUTUBE about some of the above questions and which will be inserted, later, in your presentation. Do the search in pairs and, later, you will share the video or the most suitable videos.

If you dare, you can create your own video with PHOTOPEACH. With the tutorial that comes below, you can create a video with your own images, comments and the music you like most.

ACTIVITY 3: A STOPOVER: WE WRITE IN OUR LEARNING DIARY.

TO THINK OVER

You are going to do a stopover to think over about what you are learning, how you are learning it and if you need any help to solve a specific topic or to learn it in a more efficient way. Thus, you have the Learning Diary, a tool that is going to help you to self-evaluate your learning process. It is convenient that you answer all the questions of your diary in an individual way.

This Learning Diary can be checked whenever the teacher or you consider it appropriate.

ACTIVITY 4: TO PREPARE THE SLIDE PRESENTATION.

Now with all the written and graphical information you have gathered, you are going to elaborate a presentation in slides. Before you start your work, you can follow these recommendations.

Your presentations can be done in Power Point or in another program. Choose the design of the slide, font, colours...

This one is the template your classmates will use to evaluate yourselves.
