LET'S INVESTIGATE

Questions you have to look for information to do your investigation

  • What was his plan, his project?
  • Why did the Spanish go to America?, What were the reasons that fostered this discovery?
  • How many voyages did Christopher Columbus do to America?. Explain his itineraries
  • What were the consequences of the America discovery in the conquered peoples and for the conquerors?
  • What territories and what peoples were occupied by Spain up to building up the Spanish Empire in America?
  • Why is this continent called America?

ACTIVITY 1: LOOK FOR INFORMATION ON INTERNET AND COLLECT IT IN CARDS

To answer these questions you are going to look for information in different sources of Internet, and then, do a presentation of slides that will help you to explain to your classmates what you have learned.

These cards may be useful, you will collect the written information and the graphics (maps, images...). In the group you can distribute the task, but remember that you have to answer to all the questions.

COLLECTED INFORMATION CARDS

In these cards you are going to copy and paste the Internet information you consider important for your investigation.

ACTIVITY 2: LOOKING FOR A VIDEO FOR THE PRESENTATION

Afterwards, you are going to go to YouTube in order to look for a video about one of the presented tasks, and afterwards, you will insert it in your presentation. Try to find the video in pairs, and afterwards, show it to the rest of the group in order to decide which videos are going to be included.

If you want, you can try to make your own video by using PHOTOPEACH. Using the tutorial that goes now, you can make your video using your images, comments and the music you like best.

ACTIVITY 3: A STOPOVER: WE WRITE IN OUR LEARNING DIARY.

TO THINK ABOUT

You are going to do a stopover to think over about what you are learning, how you are learning it and if you need any help to solve a specific topic or to learn it in a more efficient way. Thus, you have the Learning Diary, a tool that is going to help you to self-evaluate your learning process. It is convenient that you answer all the questions of your diary in an individual way. This Learning Diary can be checked whenever the teacher or you consider it appropriate.
