All four clips were recorded on an Android phone using Filmic Pro. The recordings were all done in HD and with an indoor(soft) white balance.
Assisted by Liam, the most patient and helpful nine year old this family has ever seen.
For this video I used low lighting, an average shutter speed (1/60) and frame rate (30), a higher ISO(1000), and no saturation. He wanted to play something creepy, so I matched it with a black and white, 'noisy' film- a mock of older thrillers. The camera was positioned so the guide and the keys themselves would become leading lines, and to emphasize the loss of detail in the background.
This short clip uses the fastest shutter speed(1/120), fastest frame rate(1/60), and a higher ISO(800). The clip is meant to be well lit and without movement blurs. I attempted to center the shot on the hallway door and baseboards, in order to frame the ball and show the horizontal movement.
This video uses low light and an aerial viewpoint to create an abstract space. I used an average shutter speed(1/60) and frame rate(30), and a lower ISO(300). I wanted this video to stay relatively simple. By keeping the details of the dog undefined the focus is instead on the horizontal and diagonal movements. Forgive the shakiness- our great protector was terrified of the drone, so I had to hold the phone and throw the toys.
This clip was taken in full light, with a slower shutter speed(1/30) and frame rate(30), and a higher ISO(800). I liked the diagonal and horizontal lines created by the track, though I do wish I had thought to cover the vertical lines in the background before now. I wanted to emphasize the movement of the cars with motion blurs, my son wanted to dance.
