Character Design
Part 1 of our midterm was to create a functioning character rig. Jeff here was made from a cube: modeled, sculpted and brush painted. I retopologized using Quad-draw and then generated a new UV. Learning how to create the rig and attach it to the character model wasn't necessarily hard, but it was tedious. Jeff is ready to be imported to Roswell.
Scene Design
Part 2 of our animation midterm was to create a complex scene demonstrating each of the tools we've learned so far. The objects in this scene were crafted from simple polygons and curves- There is a natural sky and dome light, with a flat, textured plane as the ground. Each planet in the distance has a glow affect(emission), as well as the light sources attached to the UFO. Jeff has been imported and all objects have been painted- so it's time to animate!
