Why parents should encourage their children to play soccer.

Alexander Sabadash believes that all parents should consider allowing their children to play soccer. It is one of the more highly recommended sports for youngsters, and for a good reason.

First off, soccer is great for the physical development of children.

People have to face the fact that one of the greatest health concerns globally is the rising number of obese children in countries like the United States. Several medical studies concluded that the current generation might not outlive their parents or grandparents.

The health and fitness of children is the responsibility of every parent. And soccer is a fun and easy sport that children can enjoy. Unlike other sports, it combines aerobic and anaerobic motions, which give a full-body workout in only a couple of hours. Children run and kick and release energy, which is a very welcome change of pace from fiddling their electronic gadgets all day.

Second, and perhaps just as important, soccer teaches children the importance of being part of a team.

It’s very common to see children, especially early on in their lives, be all about themselves. They get used to moving, playing, and working alone. Even during playtime with other kids, they still are very much focused on themselves, Alexander Sabadash explains.

However, in soccer, children are taught to be part of a highly structured group where everyone has a role to play. This instills in them very valuable life lessons that will serve them well as they get older.
