Gibraltar Island Games Art Residency 2019
The Gibraltar Island Games art residency was a programme for artists working in any medium, interested in developing their work in visual arts, physical theater, performing arts, literature, or any other creative form. The idea was to mirror the inclusive and cooperative ethos of the 2019 Island Games, GCS invited one Artist from each participating Island in the Island Games, to spend two weeks in Gibraltar, to develop and share their work. The participants were encouraged to work collaboratively and make pieces that were then showcased to audiences in an exhibition at the end of the residency. The spirit of the residency was to engage in collaborative projects in a multi disciplinary way, with a focused on the connections between the Islands both historically and socially. This project was a collaboration between Gibraltar Cultural services and Artist Alan Perez.
