Interested individuals must complete an online application. Applications must be completed by July 15, 2025. Only complete applications will be considered.
Clinic titles should be concise and attractive, while conveying the essence of the clinic. Examples might include: “Jazz Band Rhythm Section 101,” “Copyright, Copywrong, Copyconfusion,” or “Developing Expressive Performance Through Singing.”
Included in the application you will be asked for the following:
a detailed outline of your proposed presentation
a brief paragraph summarizing the clinic (150 words max)
a headshot
a brief biography (200 words max)
The ACB welcomes applications representing all aspects of wind bands: Administration, Marketing, Rehearsal and Instrumental Techniques, Composing/Arranging/Repertoire, Diversity and Inclusion, Finance/Budget/Business, Musicianship, Programming, Audience Building, Social Media, etc.
Clinic length should be 45 minutes, with 10 minutes reserved for questions.
Once approved, clinicians are required to register for the Convention.
Clinicians are responsible for their own expenses. Clinicians who plan on utilizing live music must indicate such in the appropriate place on the application. Clinicians may provide your own musicians or may request assistance from the ACB. Late requests may limit the ACB’s ability for assistance.
Notification of acceptance will be emailed by September 1, 2025.
If your clinic is accepted, you will be expected to prepare a handout for your session. A pdf draft of your handout must be submitted for review. Once reviewed, a final copy of the handout must be submitted. The clinician is responsible for providing hard copy handouts at the Convention.
Note that applicants are expected to be available to present your clinic at any time during the Convention. Before you apply, please make sure your calendar is clear for the entire duration of the Convention, April 15-19, 2026.
If your clinic is not accepted, understand that your application may still have been of sufficient quality. Achieving a balance of topics may result in declining some excellent clinic applications. We encourage you to re-apply for future conventions.
Product promotion is discouraged during a Clinic.
