Acinetobacter baumannii is a round rod shaped gram negative bacteria. It was named after Paul Bauman (a biologist). It is a pathogen that affects humans with weakened immune system. It is often linked with hospitals.
A. Baumannii is a BSL level 2. Meaning it occurs naturally and is moderately hazardous. These are used to grow the microbe.

Acinetobacter baumannii is a nosocomial opportunistic pathogen (contracted by toxins in a certain location) . It causes Acinetobacter baumannii infection. It causes infections in blood, brain, and lungs, it also causes urinary tract and wound infections. It does not have host but is commonly found in water and soil.
It can be prevented though environmental cleaning and proper hygiene. It can be dangerous
There are some antibiotics that can help with it. The antibiotics are: colistin, tigecycline, imipenem and meropenem.
