The University of Arizona’s 4-H Summit and STEM YOUniversity were scheduled to take place during the summer of 2020. When faced with the challenges of offering face-to-face programming due to COVID-19 social distancing protocols, creating a virtual experience became necessary. Offering a virtual camp experience provided new challenges as well as opportunities. This document provides insight into the many facets of what was learned. Implementing this camp through virtual means enabled us to begin a statewide STEM program through which we could include staff, volunteers, and youth from multiple counties and tribal communities across Arizona. Utilizing CoderZ was a natural extension of the face-to-face Lego Robotics camp held the previous year for participants who attended both. The face-to-face program, however, was not a pre-requisite for participation in the virtual camp.
