John Nugent has demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership in school sport since beginning his coaching journey with Polding in 2010 at the Wagga Wagga carnival. Over the past 15 years, John has been instrumental in shaping the success and spirit of Polding Rugby, guiding teams to remarkable achievements and fostering a culture of excellence.

Under his stewardship, Polding celebrated its first-ever PSSA Rugby State Championship victory in 2011, a historic milestone. Across 11 years as Polding coach, John led his teams to 2 State Championships, 3 Runner-Up finishes, and 3 third-place results, consistently competing at the highest level. His commitment extended beyond Polding, serving as NSW State Rugby Union Manager and NSW Invitational Team Manager, representing the state at major carnivals including Darwin and the Gold Coast.?

In recognition of his outstanding service, John was inducted into the PSSA Rugby Union Honour Roll in 2019, a testament to his enduring impact on school sport. His passion, professionalism, and unwavering support for young athletes have left an indelible mark on Polding and NSWPSSA Rugby.
