Alistaire Thompson is recognised for his outstanding and long-serving contribution to Touch Football across NSWCCC, NSW All Schools, Polding and NSWPSSA pathways. Over many years, he has become a cornerstone of school Touch Football in New South Wales, valued for his exceptional coaching ability, commitment to player development and unwavering dedication to the sport.
Alistaire’s coaching record is exceptional across both NSW All Schools and NSWCCC programs. Since 2016, he has been a key figure in NSW All Schools Touch Football, guiding teams to an extraordinary run of success, including U15 Boys runners-up finishes in Perth (2016), Adelaide (2017), Tasmania (2018), Canberra (2019) and Wagga Wagga (2022). He also served as Assistant Coach at the 2017 Pacific School Games and, more recently, led the U12 Girls to consecutive runners-up results in Darwin (2023) and Queensland (2024), with the 2025 Ballarat campaign still to come.
Within NSWCCC, Alistaire has served as coach since 2014, delivering sustained excellence with the U15 Boys, including premiership titles in 2014, 2017 and 2023, and multiple runners-up finishes in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2022. After contributing as a selector in 2024, he took on the role of U18 Boys Coach in 2025, guiding the team to a quarter-final finish at the National Youth Championships.
Alistaire’s devotion to Diocesan, NSWCPS, NSWCCC, NSWPSSA and NSW All Schools Touch Football goes far beyond expectations. He regularly dedicates his own time to coaching, organising teams and supporting students and their families. His genuine care for the development of young athletes has shaped countless pathways, instilling confidence, fostering strong values and ensuring that every player feels supported to reach their potential.
The sustained success of the teams under his guidance is a direct result of his hard work, meticulous preparation and deep passion for the sport. His influence has strengthened Touch Football across New South Wales and enriched the lives of the many students he has coached.
