PRAY:

Have someone read Psalm 77:11-15 aloud. After you read it, spend a minute or two silently reflecting on the passage. Then spend some time praying as a group for anything that this passage draws to your mind or stirs up in your heart.

ONE ANOTHERING:

Try to think of some practical needs you can share to give others the opportunity to step up and love you. It's okay if it takes some time to get comfortable with this. It takes time and practice to be vulnerable with one another... but amazing things happen when we are. Remember that the Benevolence Ministry is a resource for our comGroups.

MEDITATION PRACTICE:

Read through Psalm 1 together. Read slowly. As you read pay attention to a word or phrase that stands out to you. Spend a few moments silently reflecting with God on this word or phrase.

  • What word or phrase stood out to you?
  • What came to your mind or heart as you were reflecting on this word?
  • How does this word or phrase relate to an experience you have had today?
  • Is there something you feel prompted to pray for?

Spend some time praying as a group for anything that came up in the last question.

Read through Psalm 1 again. Read even more slowly. As you read, consider what God is inviting you to do through this Psalm. Spend a few moments silently reflecting on this with God.

  • Is there something you feel God inviting you to do after meditating on this Psalm?
  • What do you think your first step is in responding to this invitation?
  • How can we pray for you or come alongside you as you take this next step?

Spend some time praying as a group for anything that came up in the last question. Close with a prayer of thanks for God's word.

PRACTICE:

Meditate on Psalm 1 every day this week. Send a text message or email to your comGroup to share what stood out to you each day. Come back next week to share about this experience.

Consider pastor Heath's challenge to replace social media impulses with Scripture or to read Scripture around meals to find more time to meditate on the passage.

PRAY:

End your time by having someone read Psalm 19:14 aloud. Spend some time silently reflecting on this passage before you close in prayer.
