PRAY:

Have someone read 2 Corinthians 13:11 aloud. After you read it, spend a minute or two silently reflecting on the passage. Then spend some time praying as a group for anything that this passage draws to your mind or stirs up in your heart.

ONE ANOTHERING:

Try to think of some practical needs you can share to give others the opportunity to step up and love you. It's okay if it takes some time to get comfortable with this. It takes time and practice to be vulnerable with one another... but amazing things happen when we are. Remember that the Benevolence Ministry is a resource for our comGroups.

  • How can we love or serve one another this week?

DEFINE:

ASK:

  • What comes to mind when you hear the word Trinity?
  • What is your honest reaction to a sermon series focused on the Trinity?
  • How do you think you might grow from this series?

REFLECT:

Take a moment to reflect on the following question. In one or two sentences, write down your response on a piece of paper or your phone.

  • How would you describe God?

Share your response with the group. There is no judgement or criticism toward what anyone has written.

  • In what ways are your responses similar?
  • In what ways are they different?
  • Is there a response that caused you to think about an aspect of God you had not considered before?

Take another moment to reflect on the following questions before sharing with the group.

  • Who or what has had a strong influence on your understanding of God?
  • What influence did they have? Do you see it as positive or negative?

SHARE:

  • What does this passage teach us about God?
  • In what ways is this description of God similar to your own? In what ways does it differ?
  • How would you describe the relationship between Jesus and his Father?
  • How does the relationship between Jesus and his Father affect the way you understand and relate to God?
  • When do you most deeply desire to be close to God? How do you express that desire?
  • What areas of your life would be most affected by entering into the life, love, and joy of the Trinity? What would those effects be?

PRAY:

End your time by having someone read Jude 1:24-25 aloud. Spend some time silently reflecting on this passage before you close in prayer. Remember to pray for any of your neighbors who came up in the discussion.
