School Assessments

School assessments identify a student's starting point at the beginning of a math course and an ELA course (i.e., the benchmark level) at the beginning of the school year and they monitor growth in those courses via interim assessments as the year progresses. These assessments:

• Are typically taken in the student's regular learning environment (e.g., at home). (Exceptions occur for certain diagnostic tests.)

• Occur on predetermined dates that are announced well in advance of the assessment dates.

• Are to be taken independently (i.e., without assistance other than approved accommodations).

  • Are typically assigned on a day without other assignments. (Not guaranteed.)

It is important to stay on top of all school communications so that you are informed about the dates of these school assessments and know where to find your child's testing instructions in Canvas. This will help to ensure your child is prepared to take these important assessments when they are assigned.
