Are mandated by the state.
Typically occur during the second semester. (Timing exceptions might occur at the high school level.)
Are frequently multiple days.
Certain test events (e.g., LEAP2025) require multiple days to administer assessments for multiple courses.
High school students might take more than one type of district assessment depending on the grade level (e.g., ACT and LEAP2025). These students usually have different test cycles during the year; oftentimes in the same semester.
Occur on specific dates during an interval that is determined by the Louisiana Department of Education.
Test days are treated as "Blackout Days" on the Canvas Calendar (i.e., no course assignments will be scheduled on the calendar on the day(s) of the assessments).
Dates are announced well in advance of test dates, and they are communicated on multiple platforms. You will be reminded about test dates as they approach.
Are typically administered in-person at regional test sites across the state.
Most tests must be administered in person. Exceptions are communicated by the District Test department.
Learning Coaches (i.e., parents, guardians, designated Learning Coaches) are notified of assigned locations weeks in advance with an opportunity to request a change to a different site before a specified deadline.
Students must be present at the test site, on the assigned dates, at the appointed times.
