The Orientation Shoppe

We encourage every adult that is associated with a UVA student to read through the contents of The Orientation Shoppe, Learning Coach Corner's anchor section. It explains the Learning Coach role in depth and provides resources and information that can be used throughout your journey at UVA. The Orientation Shoppe is the core component of "Phase II -- In-Depth Learning Coach Training" in the UVA Onboarding Course. We are confident that you will find the information interesting and useful. Even our experienced Learning Coaches will get a good refresher.

Canvas Pavilion

In the UVA Onboarding Course for new families, Learning Coaches will be instructed to create the Canvas Observer account in "Phase III -- Canvas Intro and Training." The Observer account establishes a necessary communication channel between the school and the Learning Coach. It also functions as your dedicated portal to monitor your child's engagement and performance without interrupting your child's activities. Canvas Pavilion ensures you are familiar with key aspects of the learning platform to perform your Learning Coach duties. It will be available when "Phase III -- Canvas Intro and Training" is released shortly before the semester begins.

Technology Mart

Technology Mart is a rich resource full of tips that address common tech questions and issues. Topics range from laptop usage to the Remind communications platform. You will be able to browse Technology Mart after the semester begins.

Resource Emporium

Resource Emporium provides information about several of our school services and explains important requirements of our school that impact you and your children. New topics and articles are added throughout the year to assist you in supporting your child(ren) at home. We are confident that there will be something that you can take advantage of. Be sure to browse your Resource Emporium after the semester begins.
