Ask questions and get information from our Learning Coaches
Update our Learning Coaches about their children's successes, and discuss the concerns that we would like to address in partnership with you
Recommend enhancements to a student's course load (e.g., perhaps reading or math intervention is recommended; or a teacher might want to recommend that your child attends daily tutoring sessions for a few weeks as a course supplement)
Work directly with our students to provide instructions and support
Notify you about upcoming events and important dates that require your attention (e.g., state testing, which requires daily student attendance at a designated test site at specific times of the year)
There will be times when you have questions or concerns. In addition, you might see something at home when your child is completing assignments before we are able to observe it or detect it on our end in a live instructional session or in an assessment. We value your observations and want to hear from you as quickly as possible.
There are numerous ways to communicate (e.g., call, Remind, Canvas messaging, text, email, and sometimes in person). We are usually able to be flexible for status updates and real-time conversations. However, there are some items (e.g., school announcements, course announcements, assignments, and documentation that you and/or your child need) that must be delivered electronically.
Take a look at the table below for a list of best practices that can assist us in communicating effectively with each other.
(If you would like to download the table after reading it, simply click the table and follow the instructions to download it to your device for quick access later. And note that there are a few references to Canvas features that you have not learned about yet.)
