The Design Pre-Thesis 2 is an advanced architectural design studio that focuses on the Urbanism theme. Understanding of macro and micro relationship urban context is of utmost importance in this studio. Based on a firm understanding of the urban fabric and its relationship with the built environment, it provides a unique opportunity for students to pursue a wide range of issues, including (but not limited to) conservation, sustainable urbanism, resilient cities, space syntax, eco-urbanisms and so on.

Group Exercise
During Design Pre-Thesis 2, students divided into three groups. Each group were to come out with an Action Plan; an urban master plan proposal which showcase design strategy and contextual understanding in macro level. Students will then, individually come out with their own site specific design to complement their respective action plan. Prior to that, all students were to work as one group and produce a site inventory and analysis for the studio.
