'a slice of Kampung Baru' explores qualitative and quantitative values of social and cultural landscape of this so called 'Urban Village'. The architectural proposal intends to preserve these values within a building typology. Compose with three components of public, commercial and residential units, these spaces will accommodate the existing people who lives in Kampung Baru. The overall form of architecture entwines together with an 'arcade' that slices into the center portion of the building which it's path connects two plazas for social activities to take place. 'a slice of Kampung Baru' wishes to encourage architecture that is contemporary thus able to transmit through time - "a social and cultural preservation through architectural typology"
