Design Thesis | Selection: Urbanism
The study of Spatial and Transpatial Visual Connectivity - Walkability for The Elderly is about to find out the effective visual connectivity through spaces and transition spaces configurations derived from the literature data collected in order to promote walking environment among the ageing community. There is also a problem that the design factors that are often discussed as promoting walking or creating ‘pedestrian-friendly environments’ in urban design theories and discourses are often based on little evidence and empirically unproven. Space Syntax empirical method have been used as a platform for scientific simulation to measure the visual connectivity using the Visibility Graph Analysis and Agent Analysis to find out the area covered and pattern of walking.
