The University of Santo Tomas Sociological Society (USTSS) is a recognized college-based organization from the University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Arts and Letters. It aims to develop, apply, and execute the anchors namely, Research, Theory, and Practice through different sociological lenses to cater to the Thomasian community to be socially, politically, economically, and culturally conscious and actively participate in various sectors of society with the disciplines, practices, and bearing the 3Cs of the university - Competence, Commitment, and Compassion.
USTSS aims to use research with the help of Sociological theories to be applied for the betterment of society and therefore, the understanding of social diversity. USTSS, as the students’ arm of the BA Sociology Department, aims to develop better individuals, students, and citizens of the Philippines by fostering their academic aspirations and will to serve the people.
As an academic organization, the UST Sociological Society’s purpose is to help unite, engage, and empower Sociology students and faculty to create meaningful and purposeful projects that enrich Sociology not just in the field of academia but also outside the four corners of the university.
