Recognized as the official student organization of Literature majors in the University of Santo Tomas, the UST Literary Society holds the purpose of upholding its members’ long-standing literary and academic excellence, cognizant of Wisdom-seeking and Thomistic values. Over the years, having been founded by Dr. Ophelia Alcantara Dimalanta, the Society has promoted comprehensive intellectual development and honed its members’ literary and creative writing prowess all through the convening of programs and engagements that have kept, and will keep, its members adept in the literary writing styles, thoughts, and trends across contexts.

Imploring the aid of Divine Providence, the organization’s members commit themselves to the formation of a Society composed of great Filipino men and women of arts and letters while instilling within themselves the belief in the study of Literature; that the power to instigate change and to contribute to our spaces is in their hands, allowing them to create for themselves a purpose in a culture and community that promotes the very core of the Faculty.
