Urban Academy is pleased to share information about the BC Provincial Scholarships Program, a fantastic opportunity for graduating students to be recognized for their hard work and achievements. The scholarships aim to encourage students to pursue post-secondary education by providing financial support. Below are details about the various scholarships available:
BC Achievement Scholarship
BC Achievement Scholarship
Eligibility: Awarded to the top 8,000 graduates in the province based on academic achievement in Grades 10–12.
Amount: $1,250
Purpose: Recognizes outstanding academic performance and encourages higher education.
District/Authority Scholarships
District/Authority Scholarships
Eligibility: Students who demonstrate excellence in specialized areas such as the arts, applied design, trades, physical activity, or Indigenous languages and culture.
Amount: $1,250 (voucher for post-secondary tuition)
Purpose: Encourages diverse talents and skills beyond traditional academics.
BC Excellence Scholarship
BC Excellence Scholarship
Eligibility: High school graduates who have demonstrated leadership, community service, and commitment to their career goals.
Amount: $5,000
Application Process: Nomination required by the school; includes submission of a written application and supporting documents.
Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship
Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship
Eligibility: Students pursuing a career in K–12 teaching.
Amount: $5,000
Purpose: Supports students dedicated to becoming future educators.
