1 - School Calendar & Important Dates

Wednesday, August 28 (2:30-5pm) | Back to School Celebration
A drop-in celebration for all UA families to explore the school, visit classrooms, meet teachers & classmates, and meet the community.Tuesday, September 3, 2024 (time TBD) | First Day of School & New Gr.1-12 Student Orientation
For new students to meet a student buddy and key staff, and be given some helpful info before the wider student body returning later that day.Thursday, September 19 (evening time TBD) | New Parent Reception
For new UA Parents to meet school leadership (including the UA Board, Parent Leaders, and more), learn a little bit more about the school and connect with new families.

2 - Tuition, Payment and Finance
There are four different ways to pay tuition and fees (cheque, e-transfer, pre-authorized debit and credit card). Full details, including PDFs and forms are available for you here.

3 - School Uniform
Uniform Manual
Styles vary slightly between boys and girls and between ages, and the Urban Academy Uniform Manual makes it easy to know how to dress the part.
Buying Used — PAX Store
Uniform items available for purchase are in gently used condition, meet the school’s uniform standard requirements and are offered at a considerable discount.

4 - Out of School Care (OOSC)
Our licensed Out of School Care (OOSC) is a vital program for students up to 12 years old. Offered throughout the year including summertime, spring break, winter break, and professional days, OOSC provides a safe, high-quality supervision amenity during which students can engage in structured programs or free play to promote learning and fun.
Registration is required for OOSC, so if you are interested please register below or visit the OOSC page in the hub for more information.
OOSC - Summer 2024 ($80/day)
Follow these steps to sign up for OOSC in the Summer. New students enrolling in Grade 1 up to 12 years old at UA are able to register for summer OOSC.
Download and review the 2023/24 OOSC Fee Schedule (PDF).
Complete the Summer OOSC Registration Form (link will be available at a later date).
Fill in the Intake Form (PDF) and email a signed copy to oosc@urbanacademy.ca.

OOSC - 2024/25 School Year
Follow these steps to sign up for OOSC for the 2024/25 School Year. The program is open to all UA Students JK to age 12.
Download and review the 2024/25 OOSC Fee Schedule (PDF).
Complete the Registration Form.
Fill in the Intake Form (PDF) and email a signed copy to oosc@urbanacademy.ca. NOTE: if you already submitted an intake form for Summer OOSC you can skip this step.

5 - School Supplies
JK to Grade 5 Students are not required to purchase school supplies, as supplies are included in their fees. Students entering Grades 6-12 are required to purchase supplies and the details can be found on the list below.
6 - School Bus Service Details & Registration
Our morning and afternoon bus services are here to help make your lives a little easier! With centralized services running through North West Burnaby and the Tri-Cities, the logistics of the school run is one less thing for you to worry about.
