Policy 9.007 BP — Volunteer Drivers Policy (PDF)

For those who wish to drive for school events/field studies, please follow these steps:

Step 1. Criminal Record Checks (CRC) Info

Start your criminal record check

Use access code: EBEG9ADXHJ

The Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP) will email the clearance letters directly to Urban Academy. Make note of the date you submitted your request and the confirmation or session ID number and please forward this information to admin@urbanacademy.ca so we can follow up directly with the CRRP if your letter is not received.

If your legal name differs from the name we have on file for you at school (eg. maiden name, legal ethnic name, etc), please confirm that information with the office at 604-524-2211 or admin@urbanacademy.ca so we know you have clearance and can associate you with the correct student when the letter comes into the office.

This process can take several weeks during busy times of the year so please complete this step early in September if you wish to volunteer at the school or on field study. The clearance letter is valid for 5 years.

Step 2. Driver Abstract – from ICBC online

Request a driver abstract from ICBC

You will need your driver's licence handy — please request the "Personal driving record" and select 5 years under the "Years of claims history". This email is usually sent within a few minutes of request and you can have the email sent directly to admin@urbanacademy.ca.

Please submit this annually to Urban Academy.

Step 3. Vehicle Insurance

Urban Academy requires a copy of your current valid vehicle insurance showing a minimum of $2,000,000.00 in third-party liability coverage.

As insurance expires each year, please submit a copy of your insurance annually to Urban Academy or upon renewal.

Step 4. Read the Policy
