Getting involved with Urban Academy further connects you to daily life at the school and the learning experiences of your children. We encourage parents to get involved and explore their own passions within our school community.
Parents are asked to volunteer 15 hours per household per year in areas of their choosing.

In The Classroom
In The Classroom
At the classroom level, teachers or Class Parents will reach out from time to time to request classroom support for various things. This can be driving for field trips, helping create materials at home, helping with various cultural celebrations, or a myriad of other classroom-based opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunities & Community Talent
Another way to get involved is by signing up for school-wide volunteer opportunities through our Signup.com app. These opportunities include things like volunteering for various parent-led initiatives, supporting our traffic and parking needs, getting involved in various events, or participating in many other ways.
For details on how to register, please email our Parent Volunteer Coordinator (volunteer@urbanacademy.ca), who can also help you get connected to the appropriate committee or group given their own interests and passions.

Finally, there are a number of committees that our parents are able to take part in. From our Parent Auxiliary to Gala Committee, Finance Committee, and our Board, there are many groups that meet regularly to create community, plan events, and ensure the smooth running of the school in general.
