Teaching Philosophy
"There are absolute truths, knowledge, and values that make a character. In this context, I am an idealist because there are innermost values that I bring to my classes: Faith, Love, Honesty, Justice, Pakikipag-kapwa tao. These are non-negotiables. When these are breached in any way by my learners or colleagues, my anchor is love so I choose to be just and kind.
I uphold reconstructivism in my classes, giving my students all opportunities I can offer to learn the basics, explore how these learnings can be applied in their own settings, and discover how we can help build a better society. I design my courses according to expected learning outcomes highlighting that genuine reforms can be achieved but must begin from within, transcend to their classes, their institutions, and their communities."
