Design Technology is the link between innovation and creativity and exploring the possibilities and constraints associated with products or systems. It is human-centred and focuses on the needs, wants and limitations of the end-user. The course provides students with the knowledge to design and make models, prototypes and products, with a focus on developing an understanding of technology, marketing strategies, clean energy production and global issues.

Through studying design technology, students should become aware of how designers work and communicate with each other. While the design methodology may take on a wide variety of forms, it is the emphasis on a practical approach through design work that characterizes this subject.
