College is a time of change, growth, and excitement. You are not alone if you are feeling stressed-out or challenged while you are balancing school and life. Carlson offers a full-time licensed Wellness Counselor in Hanson Hall - whose focus is undergraduate students!
Sarah Gustafson-Dombeck (she/they)
Undergraduate Wellness Counselor
Hello! I'm so happy to be here supporting undergraduate students as they navigate challenges while working towards personal and academic goals. I enjoy connecting and co-creating a space to examine life stressors, recognize how past experiences or wounding impact our current behaviors and mood, to unify mind/body connections, and to rediscover innate strengths. Looking forward to meeting you, Sarah
There are many reasons you might seek out support:
Adjustment to college or internships
Relationship stressors
Trauma (both big and small)
Grief/loss of loved one
Coping skills for anxiety and academic stress
Feeling isolated or alone
Depression or suicidal thoughts
What to expect: An initial intake appointment to share concern and establish your goals, then about seven sessions to process concerns, explore coping tools, and integrate skills.
