The Carlson School Head Orientation Peer Leader (HOPL) is preferably an undergraduate CSOM student with previous leadership experience. In addition to the duties of an undergraduate OPL (Orientation Peer Leader), they take on a leadership role within the team and help mentor/support around 6-8 OPLs. This position is IN PERSON except for the remote work option in May (not including the mandatory in-person two-day training sessions) and remote Orientation sessions. In addition to the leadership experience gained, the Carlson School Head Orientation Peer Leader will be paid $16.78/hour.

The Carlson School Orientation Peer Leaders (OPLs) are undergraduate students who help welcome and support our incoming students at summer Orientation. This position is IN PERSON except for working remote Orientation sessions. They are some of the first Carlson students our new students get to meet! OPLs will facilitate group discussions, manage logistical support, and provide registration support during Orientation. OPLs will also help create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for our new students and their guests. In addition to the leadership experience gained, Carlson Orientation Peer Leaders will be paid $16/hour.

The Enrollment Team at the Carlson School of Management is recruiting rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors to serve as Carlson School Ambassadors for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. The Carlson School Ambassadors are a service-oriented team of current students who provide a welcoming atmosphere to future students and their families. They play a vital role in serving as the face of the Carlson School to prospective students by sharing their knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm for the school while providing extra-mile customer service. Ambassadors are responsible for various activities such as leading Carlson School facilities tours, visiting partner schools and organizations, communicating with future students, assisting donors, serving as media representatives, and more. All Carlson Ambassadors will be compensated $15/hr. Candidates who can serve the entire year will be given preference.
Anticipated Work Schedule: Average 2-3 hours a week which includes:

The Student Engagement & Development team at the Carlson School of Management is recruiting Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors to serve as Carlson Crew Teaching Assistants (TAs) for the Design Your Life courses in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. These individuals help new Carlson first-year and transfer students with their transition to university life both in and out of the classroom through individual and small group meetings. Carlson Crew TAs also serve as peer leaders on College Day and teaching assistants in their assigned BA1021 - Design Your Life class section. By facilitating small group discussions, fostering community, and serving as a mentor and role model for these students, Carlson Crew TAs are an instrumental part of the first-year experience. A note - you can be a Carlson Crew TA and hold any other position on this page as well as a Welcome Week Leader or Orientation Leader. Crew TAs will be paid $16/hr.

The Carlson School Outreach Ambassadors are a team of diverse students committed to outreach within local schools and community groups. The aim is to inspire and encourage young students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds to pursue higher education and consider a career in business. Make a difference for youth, develop leadership and communication skills, and receive mentorship/guidance from professional staff while earning $15.75 per hour. Time commitment is 8-10 hours per month, mostly on Fridays. Must be a full-time student in good academic standing at the Carlson School of Management to apply, and in at least the second year of college by Fall 2025.
Anticipated Work Schedule:
1-2 Fridays per month based on sign ups. Shifts are anywhere from 2-5 hours that take place during the regular school day.

Emerging Leaders of Color (ELOC) is a eight-month college pathway program hosted by the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. The program will serve around 75 high school students (9th-12th grade). Students attend sessions at the Carlson School one Saturday every month for college preparation, lectures on various business topics, professional development, and mentorship from a current Carlson student. Each ELOC mentor will support and coach a group of approximately 10 high school mentees throughout the 8-month program. The ELOC program provides an outstanding leadership, event management and service opportunity for a diverse group of undergraduate students who will represent the Carlson School of Management and collaborate with Carlson departments and the greater UMN community. All ELOC mentors will be compensated at $15.75/hr.

One Saturday per month starting in September and ending in April for six hours each

The Business Operations team at the Carlson School of Management is recruiting freshmen, sophomores, and juniors to serve as Front Desk Assistants for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. Front Desk Assistants are the first point of contact for students, alumni, staff, and visitors, ensuring exceptional service in both in-person and virtual environments. This role includes staffing both the Gold and Maroon Lobby front desks, providing support across key areas of the Undergraduate Program. It offers a unique opportunity to develop communication, customer service, time management, and leadership skills while contributing to projects that support the program’s mission. Front Desk Assistants will be compensated starting at $15.25/hour, with a time commitment of a minimum of 6 hours/week and an average of 9 hours/week.

The Student Life and Career Design (SLCD) team is recruiting students who are current sophomores or juniors to serve as Peer Career Coaches (PCCs) for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. The THRIVE program is hiring Peer Mentors for Fall 2025. Having a commitment to diversity and understanding the importance it plays in the Carlson community, Peer Mentors will help and guide students in the program via one-on-one meetings, authentic personal connections, and by connecting them with UMN resources. In addition, Peer Mentors will collaborate with each other to create new events and to come up with meaningful ways to engage all our Scholars. With support from supervisors, the THRIVE Peer Mentors are responsible for the idea generation and implementation of THRIVE programming, developing leadership, communication, event planning, and time management skills. While shaping the future of THRIVE Scholars and affecting positive changes at the Carlson School, all Peer Mentors earn $15.00 per hour.
