Student Advisory Board

Carlson's Undergraduate Program (UG) is launching a student advisory board. The board is being developed to actively engage the student body in order to give students an open space to influence the work of the UG program team and its leadership.

In an effort to include student voices from across the entire college, we strongly encouraged students who have not held leadership roles within the college or student organizations to consider this opportunity.

The board is a volunteer group of students formed to share feedback and input based on their lived experiences as Carlson School students. The student advisory board will act as a working board (not governing board) by providing focused input on the development, implementation and evolution of programs and services offered within UG as well as emerging issues or trends.

Differentiation with Other Leadership Opportunities

We recognize the many opportunities within the Carlson School for students to impact the college through their leadership. The goal of this board is to fill an existing need to have a structured process for receiving student feedback that has existed in an unstructured way with groups such as Business Board and Carlson Ambassadors. Feedback from these groups will continue and members of those groups may join the advisory board.

This group plans to meet three times a semester. If you have any questions, please reach out to the staff co-advisors for this board:

  • Allyson Trochez, Director of Diversity, Inclusion & Enrollment (atrochez@umn.edu)

  • Sarah Wojnicki Smith, Assistant Director of Student Engagement (sarahws@umn.edu)
