Purpose/Mission:
Women in Finance is a student organization committed to challenging stigma and breaking down barriers that impact women in the historically male-dominated field of finance. This organization strives to build a strong sense of community and support for women pursuing a career in the finance industry.
What Meetings Are Like:
Women in Finance (WIF) meetings often feature collaborations with Fortune 500 companies such as RSM, Ameriprise, and Ecolab. Company recruiters visit campus to present on their organizations, share personal career insights, highlight upcoming opportunities, and engage in open Q&A panels with students. Because WIF is a smaller organization, members benefit from a more personal and direct connection with these recruiters during our events.
WIF also offers career development and finance-focused workshops that help members explore different areas of the field, including corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, and more. Our mentorship program further supports personal and professional growth by connecting members across class years for guidance and community.
While we are a smaller organization, this allows for close-knit connections and high engagement. We’re excited to grow our membership this year and welcome anyone looking to build community, develop professionally, and help break barriers in the finance industry!
Highlights:
1. Women in Finance (WIF) regularly collaborates with Fortune 500 companies for speaker series, panels, and information sessions. At the end of events, members have the opportunity to network and connect with recruiters one-on-one.
2. WIF hosts workshops for members to further their career development and learn more about the various pathways within finance.
3. WIF is launching a mentorship program this year. We are excited to connect members across all years to share helpful insights with one another.
