What relevant experience would you bring to the position you are seeking?

Currently, I am the Project Manager for Diversity and Multicultural affairs in the SGA so I have experience working in collaboration with the student body, SGA officers, UMBC faculty and staff. I have experience creating, working, and completing on-campus initiatives. Also, I am very passionate about UMBC and want to help cultivate growth for our amazing university. Additionally, I am involved on campus through multiple organizations such as College Democrats, RSA/ Residential life, and Phi Mu sorority.

How do you intend on fulfilling your role while working alongside other members of SGA? What strategies do you use to address conflict?

I intend on fulfilling my role while working alongside other members of SGA by listening and collaborating with my fellow members. If a conflict arises, I will first listen to the other members to fully understand the issue and I will address the conflict respectfully by conversing with the members. To resolve the issue I will collaborate with the members to come up with a compromise.

What is your vision for UMBC and the UMBC student body?

My vision for UMBC and the UMBC student body is to be a united front. I want us to work together to bring each other up and our university. Together we can help foster positive change by functioning as one unit. UMBC is a great establishment, but together we can make it even better.

How do you plan to facilitate communications with your constituents?

I plan to facilitate communication with my constituents in a multitude of ways. For instance, currently I am hosting Diversity Dinner and Discussion events through the SGA to bring the community together and to better understand how the student body is feeling about diversity and inclusion on-campus. I will use events and focus groups like the Diversity Dinner as a form of communication. Also being active in other organizations will give me an opportunities to communicate with my constituents.
