What relevant experience would you bring to the position you are seeking?

In my previous college I was in SGA as a general body member for a year. During this time I learned a variety of things. I learned how SGA operates. I learned about how the committees reach out to students. Most importantly I learned about the expectations that were required of the members. Due to my experience as a general body member, I have a general idea of SGA and what is expected of me.

How do you intend on fulfilling your role while working alongside other members of SGA? What strategies do you use to address conflict?

I plan on using my communication skills to work with SGA members. I plan on contributing new ideas and completing all my duties. At the same time I would give the same amount of respect to other ideas considering they are just as important. I plan on being open minded and hearing other ideas and other viewpoints. To address a conflict I plan on communicating all the way through. I would address the conflict and find ways to resolve it. I would try to find a middle ground to make everyone happy.

What is your vision for the funds that SGA has available to allocate to student organizations?

I want to insure that the student organizations that cater to the majority receive funds. I also would like to help student organizations that promote campus unity and culture receive money. I would like to help change the campus community to becoming more interactive and involved by supporting student organizations who support this notion. I feel that we have the power to change UMBC for the better through funding certain programs and organizations.

What do you think the Finance Board has done well? What do you think the Finance Board needs to improve?

Ii am speaking based on the Finance Board that I worked with in my previous college. Finance Board does a great job in trying to be fair. The Finance Board gives all the organizations the same amount of respect and consideration. I respect greatly how the Finance Board does not give special treatment to one club over the other. However, one con is that some clubs and organizations that have many members and followers are turned down. This I feel leaves these clubs to be stagnant and lose members.
