My artwork for this quarter aims at capturing gestures and improving my skills as a digital artist. I understand myself as being a painter, so I transferred my learned painting skills to my digital arts practice in the attempt to get a better understanding of how to quickly and easily embody the movement of my subject on "paper". As I began to improve on my skill, I started to focus on tone and working with the new tools I had at my disposal to successfully recreate the model I was working with. Additionally, I gained a better understanding of layers and used those layers to my advantage when understanding the movement of my subject as well as the tone!
Experimenting with frames and cloth to create an animation. This was my first hand-drawn animation playing with different frames, the speed, and the effects.
Using images drawn by my classmates, I tell a story between the characters! This story expresses an apocalyptic battle through different perspectives. Each Jamboard, along with the varying perspectives and backgrounds shows the viewer different understandings of this battle and the impact it has on those characters. There is no good nor evil. No right or wrong. It is a story of different beings and their stance within the battle. Only the masses versus the trained and those who suffered the aftermath.
Works made throughout the quarter! I made multiple practice sketches throughout this quarter and organized them into the appropriate files based on what I improved on and drew each week. These were my weekly assignment that display my improvement with digital arts and the numerous tools that come with procreate.
