My work shows the development of my figure drawing skills. I show how I started, to how my figure drawing skills have progressed now. I mainly focused on the gesture and structure of a figure because those were skills I have not ever practiced before. I also worked with movement and composition which are skills I am more comfortable with. For my work with motion, I wanted to create a narrative with the movement that was understandable. I also wanted to focus on how to create movement from imagination. I also worked on creating a narrative story using collaborative collage/drawing where I incorporated others' works creating one story.
When I started drawing figures, my gesture drawings were not proportionate. I used too many very sketchy lines, and overall I was not confident with my skills.
With my figure drawings now, I had practiced working on proportions and the overall structure of a figure and I now feel more confident drawing a figure than I had before.
I created this gif from a still figure I drew. I wanted to show natural movement and almost emotion from the movement. I tried showing this by making the hand carrying the book relax as she drank from the mug. I also tried making her expression differ as she tilted her head back by making her eyes close and neck raise up a bit.
This is a collaborative collage/drawing I did, using artists, Clover Marez (background and male figure), Heli Trejo (figure in the background), and Akane Kaneko's (angel figure) assets. I also added my own character(far left female figure), some shading elements, painted the flowers, and as well as some minor cover-ups.
