This course has been a really interesting experience for me- I have felt for a while that I have struggled with understanding human bodies, so I was really excited to do this class from the beginning. I feel that I really improved when it came to understanding things like where hips may be if the torso is in a certain position, and especially understanding lighting and muscle definition better as well.
At the beginning I ran into some technical issues and struggled with using my trackpad for drawing figures, but I was also a bit inexperienced with drawing so many poses in short amounts of time as well.
By the end of the course, I got much more used to working digitally, was also not using my trackpad anymore, and had gotten much more used to drawing more figures in a shorter amount of time. I think I also came to understand lighting on human bodies better as well, with or without clothes.
I did not do an animated gif as my Photoshop hasn't been working lately, but I did focus on trying to capture figures in movement from videos of a few different performers, along with capturing a bit of the movement in the folds and shapes in some of the clothing. This was really fun and helpful for me to understand a bit more of how the human body can work, especially with different kinds of clothes on.
The collaborative drawings were really interesting to work with. It was really neat to see how many different kinds of characters and settings different students brought in. I thought it would be interesting to combine the transparency and emotiveness of some figures with the energy that the more opaque figures brought as well.
