The Outstanding TA Award honors teaching assistants who demonstrate exceptional dedication, initiative, and care in supporting student learning. Each of these TA's demonstrated a deep commitment to teaching, learning, and the academic success of their students. Their dedication, initiative, and care are what the Outstanding TA Award seeks to recognize and celebrate.
Congratulations to Miguel Orozco, Max Su, and Rafael Fernandes!
Bringing any new course to life takes a large amount of work. With sections twice a week and material crossing lines between Biology and Math, this is a class where the TA's have the same if not more face-time with the students than the instructors, and the small group nature of sections places a high reliance for student success on the TAs. This was a hard course to teach for the first time, and almost a doubling of the workload for the TAs. The MATH 16 instructors commend them for their hard work in making this first outing of the 16 series successful!
The Department of Mathematics thanks Abhinav Jha, Brian Ma, Joseph Immel, Louis Coffin, Mike Williams, Sam Johnson, Seiji Hansen, and Sydney Hernandez for their support in making release of the MATH 16 series a success!
Awards are given to students based on academic merit in Mathematical research. Student awarded the outstanding research award have proven themselves to be effective Mathematicians and have made important contributions to Mathematics research and are featured in notable journals.
Congratulations to Sam Miller, Changhan Zou, and Rafael Fernandes!
