Sophia Turean is an Applied Math and Applied Physics double major at UCI, with a concentration in electrical engineering. Originally from the Bay Area, she is particularly interested in applications of nano-optics to other fields, such as engineering and medicine. She currently works under graduate student Yucheng Jin, looking into the integration of optical metasurfaces onto fibers.
