I’m Chris Effarah, a third-year undergraduate at UCI double majoring in Math and Physics. I was born and raised in Southern California, and enjoyed the area enough to attend university here as well. I’ve always had an interest in innovative applications of physics, so I was intrigued by Professor Lee’s work in nano-optics and metasurfaces and decided to join his group. I hope to gain a stronger understanding of both the practical and theoretical aspects of physics research, skills I plan to further develop in graduate school.
