Leon is a physics major studying at University of California, Irvine. He grew up in China where he attended Northeast Yucai School's Gifted Division, and later moved to the US, eventually graduating from University High School. He gained an interest in nano-optics after looking through Professor Howard Lee's website, and is currently studying the subject more under Professor Lee's guidance.
