Currently an undergraduate at UCI majoring in Applied Physics, I began my journey in Kentucky where, during my sophomore year of high school, I discovered my interest in physics and computer science. My move to California led to hands-on experiences, notably with the Rocket Owls at Citrus College. We aimed for an international competition with NASA’s ‘Student Launch’, building a rocket and a corresponding remote-controlled vehicle. Although the competition was canceled due to Covid, that experience inspired my transfer to UCI for Applied Physics.

During a lecture by Professor Lee, he briefly mentioned nanolens technology. I became curious about the manufacturing challenges associated with scaling up the size of a metalens. Professor Lee then invited me to join his research lab, where I aim to further understand and address these challenges.
