Weitung Yang completed his Bachelor's and master's degrees from National Tsin-Hua University, Taiwan (NTHU). He developed his interest in electromagnetism during his years in NTHU and conducted research with Professor Tsunhsu Chang on the project related to the high power gyrotron. After graduation, to gain some practicalexperience in electromagnetics wave, he worked as an engineer in technology company, developing antenna and metamaterials in millimeter wave frequency for future communication application.

He has received the fellowship from the ministry of education in Taiwan in 2021 and began his Ph.D. career in physics at UCI in Fall of 2022. With his experience in RF and microwave frequency, he wants to continue his next step in optical frequency since he finds this is a promising research area rich in both physics and future technology application. His research interests include plasmonics, nano-optics, and metamaterials.
